YouTube Plans Shutdown Of YouTube Go App Later This Year

• According to a recent YouTube announcement, the Go app will be discontinued “starting in August.”

YouTube Go was initially unveiled in 2016 as a lightweight Android app that’s geared for lower-end hardware and restrictive cellular access. YouTube stated Yesterday that it was shutting down the Go app “beginning in August.”

The main YouTube app is the planned successor, with the website also being emphasised, since Google has made many upgrades to the primary client in recent years. And, more is coming:

Specifications for Android phones have increased dramatically only in the last six years. This is wonderful news for YouTube, a developer with a worldwide audience to consider since it means it no longer requires a simple app.
