YouTube for Android TV is experimenting with autoplay videos on the home and subscription tabs; here's how to disable it.

YouTube is already starting to roll out it’s auto video previews on Android TV and Google TV devices, however spotted by 9to5google a feature which is only limited selected customers and is available for all in site video content.

YouTube’s auto video previews feature is designed to function like the autoplay videos as already seen on desktop and mobile clients of YouTube, though in the case of Android TV it is way more enhanced such that upon moving through the various video content available on the homepage and subscription sidebar sections, stopping and highlighting a particular video content generates a thumbnail preview of the expected video content which will go on to display for a few seconds.

In addition to the feature users will also notice a real-time preview with audio kick in. The mobile or desktop client, didnt get the chance to experience this addition, whenever a video is been highlited on either of both client, it iwill play the YouTube video in its whole state though in a preview option. But now rolling out to Android and Google TV it will Instead displays a brief snippet or scene of the video with sound.

When you make a selection, the video will continue from where you left off. Even more frustrating, this function is enabled by default, which means you’ll have to disable it manually if you find it as annoying as we do. Autoplay videos can be difficult to identify because the YouTube for Android TV interface is wider and crammed with video thumbnail grids.
