Xiaomi Launch Redmi K50 a Gaming Smartphone with SD 8 Gen 1 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Edition

At an event in China today, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi K50 Gaming, a successor to the Redmi K40 Gaming that was unveiled in September 2013. With Qualcomm’s newest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, the new phone can charge at a blistering 120 watts. Although a limited-edition model featuring a racing team’s logo and colours is also the first in the Xiaomi and Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team alliance.
The right-hand side of the K40 Gaming has two physical gaming triggers, much like last year’s model. On top of all of that, Xiaomi has included the company’s CyberEngine haptics motor and JBL-tuned speakers. The back of the phone is constructed of glass, while the metal frame is visible.
For the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the rest of the components, Xiaomi created a whole new dual vapour chamber (VC) cooling mechanism. To begin with, a copper radiator is affixed directly to the chipset itself. Dual graphite sheets, stainless steel and mesh materials were also used by Xiaomi.

The 6.67-inch AMOLED screen on the Redmi K50 Gaming has an FHD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 480Hz. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus is used to safeguard the panel’s10 bit colour output. The front-facing camera is a 20MP Sony IMX 596, while the rear has a 64MP Sony IMX 686 primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP telemacro sensor.
Price of Redmi K50 Gaming
The Redmi K50 gaming price starts at CNY 3,299 ($520) for the K50 Gaming with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 128GB UFS 3.1 drive as standard equipment. It costs CNY 3,599 ($567) for a 12/128 GB version and CNY 3,899 ($615) for a 12/256 GB version. The Mercedes AMG F1 variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will cost CNY 4,199($662) when it goes on sale in China.

Redmi K50 Battery
It comes with a 4,700 mAh battery, which Xiaomi says can be completely charged in only 17 minutes. An on-stage demonstration demonstrated that while playing a MOBA game, the phone took 37 minutes to fully charge. MIUI 13 is the operating system, which is based on Android 12. NFC and WiFi 6E are also included in the phone.
