Xiaomi 12 Goes Global – See The Price Of Xiaomi 12

After initially being released in China at the end of 2021, the Xiaomi 12 series has now been formally presented to foreign markets.

Thanks to that early debut, we know practically all of the basic specs and design idiosyncrasies. To refresh, the Xiaomi 12 series comprises three unique versions: the 12, 12x, and 12 Pro. The 12 and 12 Pro carry blockbuster features, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 engine, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and 5G.

Basic Features of Xiaomi 12

120W of wired fast charging is also offered, with the Xiaomi 12 Pro sporting a 4,600mAh internal battery. 50W Qi wireless charging is also featured, with 10W reverse wireless charging also available.

Xiaomi 12 Display

The clear flagship in the new range is the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which comes with a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz curved LTPO AMOLED display. It is a good follow-up to the Mi 11 Ultra from last year, with a 50-megapixel triple camera configuration. The primary sensor is the Sony IMX 707 sensor, while the 2x telephoto and ultrawide employ Samsung ISOCELL sensors. The selfie camera is 32-megapixels.

Xiaomi 12 Battery and Charging Function

While not the basic model, the regular Xiaomi 12 gives up a 6.28-inch FHD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a max brightness of 1100 nits, Gorilla Glass Victus, and a 4,500 mAh battery that is capable of 67W cable charging and 50W wireless charging.

Xiaomi 12 Camera

The camera sports a 50-megapixel main camera but utilises Sony’s IMX766 sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a macro camera. There’s also a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Xiaomi, oddly, doesn’t mention any biometric support in their release article, but presumably, there’s some type of under-display sensor.

Xiaomi 12 Global Price

Xiaomi has released US pricing, but it’s doubtful that you’ll be able to buy any 12-series smartphone in North American markets. The 8/256GB Xiaomi 12 Pro begins at $999, while the 8/128GB variant of the Xiaomi 12 starts at $749. As you’d expect considering the changes, the 8/128GB option of the Xiaomi 12x begins at $649.

The last smartphone device in the Xiaomi 12 range is the Xiaomi 12x. It diverges considerably from the rest of the series by arriving with the same chassis and basic internals (RAM, storage, camera, battery) as the ordinary Xiaomi 12.

Xiaomi 12 Chipset

Xiaomi’s new global lineup Xiaomi 12 employs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 CPU rather than the newest and finest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Unlike the Chinese debut, the whole Xiaomi 12 series will arrive with MIUI 13 atop Android 12. In China, the gadget trio was introduced with MIUI 12.5 atop Android 11.
