Verizon, along with the other major US carriers, supports the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which gives low-income families free Internet and mobile services. That’s good news since it means qualifying users can get cheap data and phone deals.
Starting this week, eligible consumers may make use of Verizon’s fast network services for no additional cost thanks to the company’s Forward Program and certain 5G Home and LTE Home Internet plans.
Digital inclusion is not just nice to have, but a necessity. It is critical that we offer accessible, affordable and usable digital solutions. Income should not be a barrier for reliable connectivity, which is why it’s so important that we provide free Verizon Home Internet to ACP-qualifying customers across the country. Through programs like ACP and the Verizon Forward Program, we’re putting the power of technology in the hands of more families across the country and continuing the important work to achieve universal digital inclusion.

Visit the ACP website to verify your eligibility (needed for the Verizon Forward Program and Fios Forward). The ACP enrollment process may be completed on Verizon‘s dedicated website after you’ve received clearance.
If you make the transition to Verizon, you might get up to $500 to assist with any associated early termination penalties. There is no definitive end date for ACP. In the event of programme termination, the FCC will provide 60 days’ notice to carriers and the general public prior to the last service month eligible for ACP subsidy.
Whenever necessary, the ACP subsidy may be switched to a new supplier. If you change addresses, you’ll have to re-enrol in order to keep receiving the subsidy. A participant in the Affordable Connectivity Program must satisfy one of the following conditions to be accepted into the programme:
- A subscriber to the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB)
- Subscribers to Lifeline
- Citizens who take part in other federal aid programmes (Medicaid, SSI, etc.)
- 200% or Less of the Federal Poverty Income Threshold
In any case, if you’re interested in joining the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program and you’re not currently a Verizon subscriber, you may try enrolling.
