Published today, Twitter for Android has added auto transition theme “auto dark mode.” that is to say; the app will finally offer the transition option for users to observe the app’s theme match their default system theme automatically, like we see in many other Android apps over the couple of years now.
Meanwhile, before this recent update, Twitter’s dark theme on Android could only be triggered manually or set to match the sunrise/sunset every day time frame. While certainly appreciated, the lack of an option to just match the system theme always felt like a bit superintendence.
Interestingly and surprising, this new added feature seems to already have rolled out to many users on the social platform within the past few hours.
How To Set Twitter Theme To Match Android Parent Theme
To apply the option, simply tap on the them icon (light bulb) in the side menu and select “Use device settings” as pictured below.
Twitter has had a dark theme for a long time, but it’s always ignored the system theme on Android. Now, that’s finally changing.
