Whether or not Samsung reveals the Galaxy S23 family earlier than some of you might expect, All three of this family of ultra-high-end smartphones have shown their exterior designs. In addition, we also have a pretty good idea of internal upgrades in the pipeline over the S22 series.

Steve Hemmert offers @OnLeaks, showing the design and rendering of the flagship Below is a high-quality image of the cutting-edge Galaxy S23 Ultra variant, right after revealing the updated designs of the vanilla S23 flavour and the big S23 Plus.

Does that look like the S22 Ultra?

It’s close, sure, but a closer inspection of all the S23 Ultra design components meticulously included in these probably reliable factory CAD-based representations will reveal some small but possibly essential differences.

A quick peek next to the three large shooters on the device’s left side will reveal two extra sensors resting flush with the glass panel, even if the back camera module may initially seem quite similar.

It’s great to see Samsung putting so much effort into improving a winning ultra-high-end smartphone design. The light-emitting diode flash is integrated inside the latter group, and it did not need to protrude in the past.

The three “primary” cameras still protrude (separately) from the handset’s glossy back, but this isn’t likely to be a dealbreaker given the very cutting-edge specs and practical applications of each. With the forthcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra, we might be probably looking at a much better 200MP camera with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens that doesn’t seem to have changed and a 10MP periscope telephoto beast with 10x optical zoom.

It’s an absolute technical marvel that these sensors are so quiet and unobtrusive. The above picture also depicts another minor update, in which the Galaxy S23 Ultra takes on an even flatter design than the somewhat flat S22 Ultra, in contrast to the discontinued Galaxy Note series. It’s likely safe to assume that Samsung will include its signature S Pen with this boxy guy. Still, it’s too early to tell if the company plans to improve its features.

With the S23 Ultra: what more could you ask for?

The display is around the same 6.8-inch size as the one on the Galaxy S22 Ultra but with supposedly slight improvements in peak brightness, colour accuracy, reflectance, and HDR performance, all of which are areas in which Samsung’s ultra-high-end mobile devices have traditionally excelled.

It’s safe to assume that the total dimensions of 163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9 mm won’t alter all that much, increasing to 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9 mm. However, we don’t know whether the battery size will rise since the device’s weight is being kept secret for the time being. Ice Universe may have already found some exciting new things after thoroughly analysing these newly leaked images. Still, many other things remain unknown or unverified, like storage and RAM combinations, pricing points, and charging rates.

If the photos are correct, the S23 Ultra will not only have a smaller “chin” than before, but it will also have (largely) consistent bezels around its 6.8-inch screen, making it seem more symmetrical than ever. This is what we mean by paying close attention to the finer points!
