In a very limited number of Apple Watch Series 6 units, a display fault may cause the screen to remain completely blank. The good news is that Apple will correct it for free.
The app was discreetly published last week, as reported by 9to5Mac. According to Apple, those who purchased a 40mm Series 6 between April and September 2021 are affected by the problem. This issue can be fixed for free if you have an eligible watch and Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider can fix it.
You’ll need to know your device’s serial number in order to verify eligibility. Your phone’s Watch app should be your first port of call if the display on your Series 6 phone is blank. The serial number may be found by going to the My Watch page, selecting General, tapping About, and then scrolling down. Next, visit Apple’s website and enter the number there.
Only 40mm Series 6 models made between April and September 2021 are affected by this issue. You have a few alternatives when it comes to having the gadget serviced. Go to an Apple Store or an approved third-party repair business, whatever you choose. If you prefer to send in your device for repair, you may also contact Apple Support.
There is, of course, fine print. For example, the device’s regular warranty will not be extended as a result of the patch. If you encounter a problem while travelling, you may have to wait until you return to the nation where you purchased it, even if the service is available globally. Additional repair costs may be incurred if your Series 6 is damaged in any way that “impaints the service.” Finally, the software has a time restriction.
Though According to Apple, the warranty period for eligible Series 6 devices is only two years from the date of the device’s first retail sale.
