New Android versions of flagship phones from Samsung have been released quickly in the past, and it seems that this trend will continue with the arrival of Android 13.
Reports claim that Samsung plans to introduce Android 13 in July 2022, along with One UI 5.0. Those who have compatible devices will be able to download and install this open beta version of the app for free.
That puts the release of Android 12 a few weeks ahead of schedule when compared to the previous year. The Android 12 open beta for Samsung smartphones was made publicly accessible in September after the first teaser of an official programme appeared online at the end of July. In November, the first builds of the stable release were made available.
Google, on the other hand, has yet to release Android 13. However, after a few developer previews, the beta programme should be here any minute now.
Android 13 is expected to be finalised and released by Google in July or August, which is much ahead of last year’s release date. Major changes to the platform have been sparse so far. Here and below, you can find more of our coverage of Android 13.
