Nigerian FG to roll out 5G network by January 2022

The Federal Authority of Nigeria yesterday 23rd of September announced the roll out of the Fifth Generation (5G) network stating nation roll out by start of January 2022.
In regards to monitor public assets against vandalism. The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami made the public announcement.
The Commissioner for Technical Services, Mr Ubale Maska, stood in for the Minister relating this information at a Town Hall official Meeting which was organized by the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture. The aim of the meeting was to address the issue of vandalism on power and telecommunications infrastructure.
About 5G Technology
5G is the 5th generation mobile network, a successor to 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G also known as LTE network. The global wireless infrastructure is meant to deliver higher data speeds function, more reliability, massive network capacity and increased availability. The rollout of the technology will provide management of the 50,000 telecommunications sites nationwide easy.
The FG Minister sharing more light said the 16,000 mobile network outages between the start of January to July 2021, across multiple telecom operators like MTN, Globacom, Airtel and 9Mobile were initiated by fiber cuts, access denial and theft,
Stating that the protection of telecoms facilities was an important welfare to the nation.
Right before the public announcement, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) already issued an MoU with the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited for the utilization of the C-Band Spectrum to boost the 5G services in the country.

At the start of 2021, the citizens of Nigeria expressed it public view concerns about the roll out of 5G technology and the effects its bringing claiming that it was the cause of the global health pandemic (Covid-19) and with regards to religious concern view of it being the sign of antichrist.
The Senate then petitioned the Federal Authority to suspend the launch of the 5G network broadband with a 6-month investigation into possible health inclined risks associated with the technology.
With all coast clear, Nigeria will be added to the list of African countries like SA and Lesotho already enjoying the benefits of the 5G technology. Other countries like the UK and United States and long adopted the use of 5G network.
