Ming-Chi Kuo Reports Apple Planning A 30W Power Adapter With New Design
Apple may produce a new 30W power adapter with a new form factor design

In 2022, Apple may produce a new 30W power adapter with a new form factor design, respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed in a tweet today.
Kuo claimed the power adapter would feature gallium nitride, or “GaN” technology, which enables smaller, lighter, and more energy-efficient chargers than silicon-based ones. The new 30W adapter would presumably be a smaller and lighter version of Apple’s current 30W USB-C power converter that is supplied with the newest MacBook Air.
Many third-party vendors, like Anker and Belkin, have released GaN-based chargers in the past few years for compatibility with Apple goods.
Apple will be having its “Peak Performance” event tomorrow at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, with reported announcements including a new iPhone SE, a new iPad Air, and perhaps a so-called “Mac Studio” desktop computer that can be linked with a new Apple external display. A new green colour option for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini has also been reported.
