One of the greatest gripes with WhatsApp is that you can’t use it on more than one phone. Although you may link your profile with up to three other devices, none of them can be another smartphone. However, this may soon change.
According to a recent claim from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new companion mode that would let you attach a second device to your account. Furthermore, as we can see from the photo below, your chat history will be replicated right onto the companion phone.

The pop-up window also indicates that the transfer may take some time to finish, although it will usually need just a couple of minutes to duplicate your conversation history.
Unfortunately, because this information was located in the code of the current version of the WhatsApp beta for Android, there is no information on when the social media will disclose the functionality to the public. But we are glad that WhatsApp has opted to provide that option. Telegram, for example, already allows users to use different phones. So, it seems a bit unusual that WhatsApp, a messaging network used by millions of people all across the world, doesn’t have this capability as well.
