Issue With MacBook Pro 14 and 16 Inche Model as Some Users Complain of Crash when watching YouTube HER

According to reports from some users who bought Apple’s MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inche claimed to have been experiencing kernel crashes whenever they watch a video on YouTube on HDR mode. These was reported by some of the users on the MacRumors community forum who also claimed to have experienced these issue each time they play a YouTube video on HDR on their new MacBook PC.

One reader on the forum says, watching an HDR YouTube video in Safari and then scrolling through the comments results in a kernel error on macOS Monterey 12.0.1. Watching YouTube in full screen and then and exiting full screen mode can also cause the error, and it may be primarily affecting 16GB machines, though 32GB/64GB models can also be affected.

Following the cry, another user also on the community forum took the chance to also explain his own issues which appeard to be the same problem saying: “it has happening to me as well, YouTube 4K HDR video on Safari. After closing full screen playback the Mac completely shuts down and reboots. M1 Pro 16″. I can pretty much get it to do it every single time”

Then again others who also got the issue reported “I’m getting the same error under the same conditions, 4k HDR YouTube playback on Safari/Chrome. At first I thought it could have been some Chrome bug but then it crashed in Safari too. I’m running Monterey 12.0.1, 16 inch M1 Max with 32GB RAM. I haven’t tried the workarounds yet. I’m thinking I should just exchange it, not sure”.

Speculations predicts the issue is as a result of AV1 decoding, which Smarttechvilla is on certain as to what may be causing this problem nor how to fix it.

However perhaps it’s a little issue Apple plans on fixing in coming software update. Meanwhile, reports also suggests that the number of persons experience this downside are only limited to a few macBook Pro owners and as such some person’s are also enjoying their device use flawlessly.

Kindly let us know if you’re a MacBook Pro owner and wether or not you’re also experiencing this significant issue while streaming YouTube, let us know in the commentary box below.
