Intel’s Unreleased Core i9-12900K Processor Spotted Before Launch

Intel new Core processor haven’t been officially announced yet the expected new Core i9-12900K processor has already been spotted sold by a retailer.

Intel’s new Central Processing Unit is only anticipated as a flagship for Intel’s new line of Alder Lake processors, given an opportunity to reclaim the performance seniority from AMD.

However, some Reddit publisher, spotted by Techspot, has managed to obtain two of the new flagship Core i9-12900K processors in retail packaging from an unnamed retailer for with a claiming Price tag of $610 per CPU. Meanwhile, much earlier this year, there was also another similar contradiction, when some retailers began selling Intel’s Rocket Lake CPUs almost a month prior their intend launch.

What happens to the new CPU Without a New Motherboard?

The publisher on Reddit had posted a series of photos partaining the unreleased Core i9-12900K processor in its retail packed form matching the leaks from earlier time of this month.

The box spotted a wafer ornament, but it doesn’t showcase the processor frequency or even its core count. Though as Z690 motherboards haven’t rolled out yet, the processor is of no use without them, hence the Reddit publisher cannot post any benchmarks or information about the Core i9-12900K functionality.

However, we’re still on hold given that Intel is yet to officially detail its flagship processor, as well as the new motherboards that will support it. Notably, a series of Asus Z690 motherboards leaked earlier today, but without specs or feature lists.

Furthermore, Intel is also speculated to be rolling out its Alder Lake desktop CPUs, with the flagship Core i9-12900K, later on. Alder Lake is speculated to feature Intel’s latest hybrid architecture: a mix of both performance and efficiency x86 cores. In additionn, it will also include support for DDR5, PCIe Gen 5, Thunderbolt 4, and Wi-Fi 6E.
