Spotify is a Library that includes Tens of millions of songs which can be found on the platform.

That large library ensures that there is something for everyone; however, not all of these songs are appropriate for children’s ears. Spotify’s Family plan (which costs $15.99 per month) now includes parental controls, making it easier to filter out explicit content.

Let’s go over how to use Spotify’s parental controls.

Spotify Parental Controls for Premium Family

It’s very easy to disable explicit content, and it works for each individual member. These settings can be changed by the owner of the Spotify Premium Family account, who can toggle and allow explicit content on or off for each family member. Explicit song titles will be greyed out for that user and unavailable to them if the setting is turned off.

How to set up Spotify parental controls: Desktop Mode

Open your browser and go to the Spotify website to sign in to your account. You will see a menu on the left after logging in; select the Premium Family tab.

Select the plan member you want to exclude content for by clicking on their name in the ‘People on this plan section‘.

Toggle it off by clicking the Allow explicit content button on their profile page. This will prevent that person’s account from accessing explicit content.
