It’s was reported on Android 12’s proclivity to crash games whenever the background wallpaper is changed. The bug was first noted on the Google Issue Tracker in September. According to Twitter user Mishaal Rahman, this problem will be addressed in Android 12L.
Material You, Google’s new UI introduced with Android 12, is a dynamic theming engine that takes colours from the current wallpaper and splashes them across the system UI and supported apps, allowing consumers more control than ever over how their phone’s software looks. Changing the wallpaper in Android 12 causes a configuration change, requiring all programme activities to restart in order to use the new colours from the wallpaper.
The bug has been on the Google’s new Android 12 for quite awhile now with no means of fixing it, however, the new Android 12L will be bring to life possible fixes to the issue in Android 12L.
The Android 12L is primarily designed for foldable phones, tablets, and devices with large displays, but it will also cure a number of problems that were present in Android 12.
The update will prevent any further crashing issue by ensuring that background wallpaper changes do not inflict theme changes aswell or will force it’s app activities to restart.
Report shows that from the start of December through February, the android 12L OS will be under beta testing before rolling out online in early 2022.
