BREAKING! Netflix Plans To Acquire Next Games For $72.1 Million
Netflix Plans To Acquire Next Games, a Game Producing Company for…

Netflix Vice President of Game Development Mike Verdu has revealed the streaming service’s desire to buy Finnish firm Next Games for €65 million, which is approximately $72.1m. They will conclude the acquisition in the second quarter of the year.
Next Games was created in 2013 and is directed by Teemu Huuhtanen. In 2020, the company made €27.2 million, with in-game sales accounting for 95% of that total.
Next Games is a game producing firm and has been able to produce such mobile entertainment as Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales, The Walking Dead: Our World, and The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land.
Even though we are only beginning our gaming adventure, I am optimistic that, together with Next Games, “we will establish a library of first-class games—without commercials and microtransactions—that will please our customers throughout the world,” Verdu stated.
The purchase of Next Gaming isn’t Netflix‘s first effort into games. Previously, the streaming company purchased Night School Studio (Oxenfree, Afterparty) and granted its users access to a selection of mobile projects.
This is an important deal for the streaming company so we are looking forward to the final process when Netflix finally makes the gaming company another part of its subsidiaries.
