Apple largely won the battle with Fortnite. Due to the delay by the U.S. court totally restricts the developers from informing the customers about non-Apple payment options.
However, it has been denied permission to delay implementing the change while its appeal is ongoing.
That means that from December, app makers will for the first time be allowed to tell their customers that they do not have to use Apple’s payment system.
Going outside that system means the developers do not pay Apple’s 15-30% cut of sales.
The current rules that were set has banned any external payment system from Apple’s App Store. For instance, a Television app or movie streaming service would not be given the permission to inform users to register on a website before they can continue using the app.
