The MagSafe Battery Pack looks to have been upgraded by Apple to work with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 devices that accept MagSafe accessories.

Customers with MagSafe Battery Packs should notice a 2.7.b.0 version number in the Settings app after installing the new firmware, which should be available over-the-air beginning today.

We don’t know what new features or bug fixes have been added to the programme since Apple doesn’t post release notes. The MagSafe Battery Pack firmware can’t be updated without an iPhone attached, but there’s no apparent way to do so.

The MagSafe Battery Pack firmware was last updated in December, and the previous version was 2.5.b.0. “
