Just days after users started pressuring phone manufacturers to speed up their products, Apple, Google, and Samsung announced on Wednesday that they would release software updates to implement 5G support on each of their various phones in India,
The two biggest carriers in India, Reliance Jio and Airtel, have recently started to offer 5G services in several Indian locations, although many of the country’s most well-known phones do not support local airwaves.
Although the technology in these handsets supports 5G, but local network operators must work with phone manufacturers to provide support for their networks via software updates.
In order to achieve this, Apple revealed today that a software update will be made available in December that will enable 5G support on iPhones used in India. The iPhone 12 from Apple for the first time in 2020 featured 5G technology.
Although it hasn’t specified a launch date, Google has also assured users that a software update will be made available for its products.
Google also made it known that, the Pixel 7, 7 Pro, and Pixel 6a are 5G enabled gadgets. And they are currently collaborating with Indian carriers to quickly enable the feature out soon which will be available for sale.
Samsung, the second-largest smartphone manufacturer, is also aiming to offer software updates to implement local airwave support on all of its 5G phones in the nation, much like Apple and Google.
