Nigerians will be able to access songs on Spotify using free data, according to the company.
Airtel Nigeria has announced a partnership with global audio streaming service Spotify, which will provide music fans in Nigeria with daily complimentary data to use on the Spotify platform. The partnership will be effective immediately.
Customers of Airtel’s more than 54 million customers who purchase weekly and monthly data bundles will receive bonus data to use on Spotify, which has over 70 million songs, including local favourites and premium content, without having to worry about additional data costs.
Meanwhile, Spotify was launched in Nigeria at the beginning of last year, bringing its 381 million monthly active users and 172 million premium subscribers to the country for the first time. The Nigerian audience will enjoy the content that has been enjoyed by millions of adoring consumers around the world.
According to Airtel, the partnership with Spotify will enable Nigerians to connect with their favourite artists and the music that inspires and motivates them wherever they are, whether they are stuck in traffic, working out, partying, spending time with loved ones, or simply relaxing at home.
When Airtel customers purchase data bundles, they will receive complimentary data that can only be used on the Spotify platform as a result of the partnership.
Godfrey Efeurhobo, Airtel Nigeria’s Chief Commercial Officer, commented on the partnership, saying that the company’s partnership with Spotify was yet another demonstration of the company’s commitment to creating opportunities that will entertain, excite, delight, and reward customers on its network.
