2022 Q2 Report Says Half The Customers Who Purchased Mac Were New Users
In the second quarter of 2022, half of the customers who bought Macs were first-time Mac users.

Apple’s Mac sales have grown steadily since the November 2020 release of the first silicon-based Macs. As compared to the same quarter last year, Apple’s Mac revenue increased by 14% to $10 billion in Q2 2022.
Apple’s CFO, Luca Maestri, said that the company’s installed base has been expanding during the company’s earnings call for the second fiscal quarter of 2022, which ended on March 31, 2019. During the March quarter, there was a record number of upgraders, and half of all Mac purchases were first-time purchasers.

Apple has released the Mac Studio, which includes the M1 Max and M1 Ultra processors. Compared to the M1 Max, the M1 Ultra is Apple’s most powerful silicon processor to date.
